The southern Dutch designer, Joachim Siegelman (*1984), grew up as the son of two artists in a family of seven where everything was dominated by Art. As he got older, the desire to discover the outside world grew in him. The busy, often chaotic family life gave way to the search for an independent existence in which he would gradually develop a completely different view of art: to give expression to the magical beauty of forms. With Straaal, he introduces a design concept that is distinguished by the inventive approach of esthetics. A concept that he himself experiences as an enrichment, that he likes to share with interested parties and like-minded people. He is currently based out of Leipzig, (Germany) where he lives and works.
